Xvirus Personal Firewall

A firewall is an essential component of any operating system, because it is the first line of defense against hackers. Windows comes with its own firewall, which provides decent protection, but if you want to reinforce it, you should turn to third party applications. Xvirus Personal Firewall offers enhanced protection and it is much easier to use. It allows you to block applications or allow them through your firewall and perform other security-related actions.

You can use the software's trial version, without any restrictions, until it expires. Besides the program's files, an updater can be installed as well. The installation procedure involves familiar settings, like selecting a destination path, creating shortcuts and so on.

The firewall itself is activated automatically, when you launch the program for the first time. You can add programs to different lists, for trusted or blocked items, on a tabbed settings window. You may also disable or enable the firewall and the automatic updates feature, on the same window.

The main interface displays different messages, if your computer is protected or unprotected. Additionally, it displays the firewall's state (enabled or disabled) and its version. If the firewall is not up-to-date, you can either update it manually, by clicking the Update option or let the automatic updates feature do it for you.

Xvirus Personal Firewall comes with a built-in network monitor as well. It displays network processes, along with their IDs, protocols, IPs and ports and other information. It also allows you to add trusted or blocked applications and terminate individual processes.
